Beauty Finds: Urban Decay x Alice Through The Looking Glass
I’m sure for all you makeup junkies out there, there must be an item from Urban Decay that is a staple in your makeup collection. Whether it is their famed “Naked” palettes or their setting sprays, Urban Decay always seems to hit the nail on the head when it comes to their products. In terms of beauty news 2016, this has certainly been one of the most hyped up crossovers, and it's finally here: Urban Decay X Alice Through The Looking Glass.
Inspired by the kooky world of Alice Through The Looking Glass, directed by Tim Burton, this collection is nothing short of bright and quirky. The collection features a brand new palette and lipstick range inspired by the film. Urban Decay, you never seem to get things wrong do you?
Charmingly named the “Book of Shadows”, this palette, with its brightly printed swirly patterns, mimics the psychedelic tone of the film. The adorable naming of the eye shadow shades and lipstick bullets inspired by characters and elements of the film bring out the fun and youthful tone that Urban Decay has set out for this collection.
With 20 gorgeous buttery eye shadow shades, ranging from bright pinks to shimmering turquoises, alongside 5 new lipsticks, there’s a little something for everyone in this collection. For those of you who are intimidated by the bright colors, don’t be! There are shades within the palette that are more neutral and for everyday wear (e.g. Chessboard, a soft matte brown, bottom row 3rd from the left). There are of course more eye-catching splashes of color (e.g. Bandersnatch, dark matte teal, 2nd row, second from the right) for those of you bold enough to rock a blue eye this summer.
The 5 lipsticks from this range lean more towards dark, berry tones, but Alice (a neutral apricot, far right) has a beautiful iridescent sheen and it not as pigmented as the other lipsticks in the collection. It would look stunning on fairer skin tones. If you want to rock a red lip, Iracebeth (middle left) is the perfect shade for you. It's inspired by the Queen of Hearts has semi-matte finish with cool undertones, the perfect red to bring out your pearly whites for the summer.
