Unlike other fashion weeks around the world that focus on shows and presentations, Hong Kong Fashion Week is more of a trade-only event for exhibitors and buyers. Organized by the Hong Kong Trade and Development Council, this Fall/Winter season attracted more than 18,000 buyers from 93 countries and regions - one of the biggest in Asia. In addition to the suppliers' showcases, there were also several runway shows held by FASHIONALLY, NARS, Fortuna Tokyo and Redress for their Ecochic Design Award.
So why doesn't HKFW have more shows like other fashion weeks? Fear not, as the HKTDC will be organizing CENTRESTAGE from 7-10 September this year, an exciting new event that focuses on showcasing fashion brands and designers from all over Asia. Visit their website for more information here.
