Alex Mullins AW16
For his AW16, Alex Mullins drew inspiration from 'the process of boredom', developing the whole collection through memory, feeling and the imaginative creation of primary imagery. A reflection of the cold winter temperatures and autumnal transition to darkness, models at his Presentation were painted with dewy, wet looks, as if in the rain. Denim was worked into exaggerated, often disproportionate separates, and some had figurative textiles created by photographer Hazel Gaskin. These looks became the foundation for further exploration in colored fabrics in the form of long trench coats, extended tees and skirt-like wraps.
