Coach 1941 FW16
Fall/Winter 2016 was an opportunity for Coach to explore understated luxury by finding the heroic in everyday American life. The whole Collection brings an air of low-fi retro simplicity, dabbed with hints of the American Dream that was epitomized by 1940s New York - a spirit of optimism, rebellion and promise.
Relaxed yet sophisticated silhouettes dominated the runway in top-heavy style, with most of the Collection's focus on shearling, leather and fur outerwear. One might say the palette light navy, military green, burgundy brown, off-white to yellow symbolizes New York's pride in individuality and mixture of cultures. Practicality and wearability is seen through the ease of movement in clothes, while bucket hats, cross-body leather bags and sweaters with a dinosaur and rocket complement the more traditional pieces of ready-to-wear to play tune with FW16's nostalgic vibe.
