Nerdy spy vibes resonated across the whole Canali Fall/Winter 2016 show space, with equally cool outfits, of course. A white wall of vertical blades represent the visible/invisible essence distinctive of the Collection, and alludes to blinds found inside a detective's office. For this Collection, Andrea Pompillo wanted to explore the world of the unknown, focusing on relaying concepts of architecture into the clothing and striking a balance between practicality and style. This line of thought is translated as unique and purposeful combinations of colors and materials in a seemingly minimalist yet luxurious and studied way.
Fitted, but comfortable, silhouettes paired with traditional tailoring to come together as contemporary versions of coats, suits, jackets and pants. With an air of shadow and mystery, the Collection swims in a sea of blacks, blues, browns and grass, illuminated by bursts of vibrant shades of brick, peach, burgundy and mustard yellow. Interestingly, gloves become a staple in FW16, as long leather and wool gloves are represented as natural continuations of sleeves. These, and the glasses on some models, remind the audience of this Collection's investigation on equilibrium and perfection.
