Louis Vuitton Men's FW16
Louis Vuitton FW16
To further emphasize on the brand's Parisian roots, Kim Jones decided to base the Louis Vuitton FW16 Collection on the old and new of Paris, starting in the Art Deco period through to more modern, graphic times.
Grounded on dark, militaristic shades of black, green and navy, the Collection speaks on a refined level of sophistication and luxury. Apart from the cinched waists and cropped leather and nylon jackets, loose-fitting velvet and cashmere outerwear and overcoats also dominated the Collection, which, rather than pumping up the reference to soldiers, softens the reference and injects an air of artistry.
Jones evidently holds no fear of the cold winter, often times exposing collar bones and chests. Perhaps the LV man will find warmth in the neckties and tilted berets, which further amp up 'the artist' and makes it inevitable for audiences to remember the brand's "Art & Travel" values.
